Milton, MA – Labouré 91㽶Ƶ announced today that it received a $10,000 grant from Catholic Health Foundation of Greater Boston to support the Fund a Future Nurse Scholarship program.
The award for the Fund a Future Nurse Scholarship initiative will help fund scholarships aimed at reducing the financial burden of tuition for Labouré students. Fund a Future Nurse scholarships provide access to emergency support funding to allow nursing students to focus on earning their degrees and building a financially secure future. Funds are distributed annually at college’s Scholarship Ceremony to students who are academically achieving, but struggling financially.
CHF Executive Director Lynne Sullivan stated, “I continue to be deeply impressed with the resourcefulness of these organizations. They are consistently finding new ways to leverage their funds and stretch resources so that they can ensure greater impact and longevity.”
“As Catholics, we are called to serve. And these organizations are doing just that,” said Board President Gavan Mooney. “They are bridging gaps and developing solutions for the serious challenges facing our communities. Their commitment and dedication are second to none and CHF is proud to support their work.”
“We are honored to be selected once again as a Catholic Health Foundation grantee,” said Labouré 91㽶Ƶ President Lily S. Hsu, Ed.D. “Labouré is grateful to be a past recipient of Catholic Health Foundation support over the years as well, which has included scholarship support for over 30 students succeeding academically but struggling financially. With the support of the Catholic Health Foundation, these students have gone on to graduate and join the nursing workforce – providing care to thousands of patients in our communities.”
Funding from this year’s Catholic Health Foundation grant will be awarded at the college’s 2026 Scholarship Ceremony.
